Nature

The Giens peninsula and the islands of Port Cros and Porquerolles are preserved natural sites where nature lovers can go and discover.

The coastal footpath passes just behind the house. It allows one to walk around the Giens peninsula from the port of Madrague to the Badine beach. This walk presents extraordinary views of the Mediterranean forest, of the little creeks, of the islands and the remote countryside.

Guided tours for bird watchers are organised on the ancient salt marshes of Hyères (ten minutes by car from the house). They allow one to observe numerous protected bird species: pink flamingos, herons, white cranes, avocets, etc.

The Porquerolles island is fifteen minutes by boat from the house. It presents magnificent and varied landscapes. There we get around on foot or by bicycle.

Culture

The town of Hyères-les-Palmiers, fifteen minutes by car from the house, is rich in cultural and historic sites.

To take a walk in Hyères is to discover the ramparts and remains of the Castle, the Tower of the Templiers, the Villa Noailles, the house of Paul Bourget, the Casino...

The Olbia archaeological site presents the only town of Greek origin preserved in its entirety in France, and open to the public.
